About the Living Lab
The British Council-funded SWEEP TransformHER “Living Lab through HER Story” was an immersive three-day collaborative initiative that took place in July 2026 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The event brought together over 260 participants, including SWEEP students and coordinators, academics, entrepreneurs, NGOs, and industry leaders from the UK and South Africa to explore and advance female entrepreneurship in South Africa. Through interactive and creative engagement methods, participants shared experiences, co-created solutions, and benefited from expert-led training and upskilling opportunities. The Living Lab has generated actionable insights, strengthened entrepreneurial skills and knowledge, fostering collaboration across the UK and South Africa.

Excitement filled the room on 14 July as 10 sponsors came together for the SWEEP TransformHER Living Lab Prize evening.
